STI Test Policy
This policy describes how gingr.ch reviews STI tests (sexually transmitted infections), what requirements apply and how the result is displayed on the profile.
Uploading a test is voluntary. In addition, the Privacy Policy and the Verification Policy apply.
Purpose of the review
By uploading an STI test, escorts confirm their current health status to gingr.ch. The review serves exclusively to check whether the submitted document is valid and meets the applicable requirements.
gingr.ch does not make any medical diagnosis and does not replace medical advice.
Which tests are required
The submitted test must include results for the following infections:
- HIV
- syphilis
- gonorrhoea
- chlamydia
- hepatitis B
- hepatitis C
Additional tests (e.g. HPV, herpes, mycoplasma) are optional and can be uploaded in addition.
Validity period
An STI test is valid on gingr.ch for a maximum of three months, counted from the test date shown on the document (date of sample collection).
After this period, the STI badge is automatically removed from the profile. To maintain the status, a new, up-to-date test must be uploaded.
Accepted test sources
gingr.ch accepts test results from officially recognised medical institutions. The document must contain:
- name of the person tested (identical with KYC data)
- name and address of the laboratory, medical practice or testing centre
- date of sample collection or testing
- infections tested and corresponding result
- stamp, signature or digital signature of the issuing laboratory or the issuing doctor
Self-tests, home tests without laboratory analysis and documents without an issuing institution are not accepted. Tests from abroad are admitted provided they contain all of the above information and are issued in one of the platform's languages or in English.
Upload and review
Uploads are made via the personal area of the escort account. Accepted file formats are PDF and common image formats.
The review is carried out manually by the Safety team at gingr.ch and covers:
- validity check (date, completeness, issuing institution)
- matching the name with the KYC data
- checks for signs of manipulation or forgery
After a successful review, the STI badge is activated on the profile.
Display on the profile
The STI badge on the profile indicates that a current, complete and reviewed test is on file. It does not show which infections have been tested or what results are on file.
The concrete test results are accessible only to the Safety team, not to other platform users.
Handling of positive test results
gingr.ch follows a non-discriminatory approach. A positive test result does not lead to the suspension of the profile.
In the event of a positive test result, however, the STI badge is not granted or is removed. The profile remains active and bookable, provided that the other platform rules are observed.
Responsibility for safer sex lies with all parties involved in a booking. gingr.ch makes no statement about the infectiousness or the treatment status of a person.
What the badge does not guarantee
A valid STI badge means that, at the time of the test, the stated results were on file. It does not mean:
- that a person is currently not infected (window periods of days to several weeks, depending on the infection)
- that no infection has occurred since the date of the test
- that all conceivable infections are covered
The badge is a trust signal, not a guarantee. Safer sex (condoms, dental dams) remains the responsibility of the persons involved in a booking.
Health recommendations
gingr.ch recommends, both to escorts and to clients:
- regular STI tests, even without symptoms
- full vaccination against hepatitis A and B as well as HPV
- information about pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) against HIV in the case of increased risk
- consistent use of condoms and other protective measures
Detailed information on STI prevention, testing and treatment is available from the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).
Forged or manipulated documents
The upload of forged, manipulated or third-party test documents is strictly prohibited and is treated as a serious breach of the platform rules.
Consequences may include:
- immediate removal of the STI badge
- temporary or permanent suspension of the profile
- reporting to the competent authorities in the event of suspected document forgery
Data protection
Health data constitute a special category of personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
gingr.ch processes uploaded STI tests exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent and uses them only for the purpose of validity checking.
Your rights as a data subject, retention periods, information on data security and the handling of international data transfers are described in detail in the Privacy Policy.
Consent to processing can be withdrawn at any time. In that case, the test document is deleted or anonymised within five working days. The STI badge on the profile is removed at the time consent is withdrawn.
